Jim McLaughlin has been active with the Leadership Roswell Program since 1990, when he was a student and later was elected class president. He became the program’s Executive Director in 1992 and has been a volunteer ever since. Throughout the past twenty years, he has given two weeks each year to the community to help train current and future leaders of Roswell. McLaughlin is passionate about the community, and wants to make a difference in Roswell and throughout southeastern New Mexico.

On Tuesday night, the audience at the Roswell Convention Center packed the room to listen to the candidates debate the $35 million Public Safety Complex bond that is up for a vote in less than a week. While some candidates support the bond, others oppose it. The majority of Roswell residents voted against it, but that doesn’t mean that all candidates are against it. Several of the candidates have stated that they’ll vote in favor of the bond.
City of Roswell Leadership Team
The City of Roswell’s Leadership Team More Info is made up of a Mayor and the Deputy City Administrator. They oversee the day-to-day operations of the City and advise the City Administrator on important issues. The City has approximately 900 full-time employees and a budget of $100 million. Project LNF service projects
The program’s impact on the community extends beyond its four walls. Its alumni have become active members of community boards and elected officials. Since its inception, Project LNF has helped start programs and organizations such as the Drake House, Emerging Leaders Youth Program, and the North Metro Miracle League golf tournament. Participants are encouraged to continue these efforts and serve their communities. Project LNF service projects at Leadership Roswell highlight how participants can use their skills for good.
Dudek Wood
Dudek is a well-known Roswell resident. He earned honors at Graceland University where he played basketball. As a senior, he was named team MVP and was named to the President’s and Dean’s List. He was also an outstanding student, earning many academic awards and serving as a team coach. Dudek’s passion for the community prompted him to serve as the leadership Roswell board president pro tem.
Jeanine Best
Jeanine Best, a long-time resident of Roswell, has been elected to serve on the City Council. She is a single mother of three and has completed the school system. A graduate of St. Scholastic Academy, she has EMS certification from ENMUR. She is an active member of several community organizations, including Pecos Valley Horsemen, Narrow Way Ministries, and the Noon Optimist Little League. Best currently serves on the Public Safety Policy Committee. In addition, she is a past president of the Washington Avenue PTO and the Sidney Gutierrez Middle School PTO. She is also a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association, Leadership Roswell, and Elks Lodge 969.
